GROUND FOR TALKS FAR FROM BEING CONDUCIVE |
Any discussion to do with this beleaguered country mainly centers on the talk about talks and according to the snap survey carried out by Youth Forum there is general consensus that only dialogue in the exact meaning of the word is the only way forward towards getting a lasting solution for this nation’s seemingly unending problems and some do not really understand what is on the ground prompting a feeling that delaying talks is disregarding their poverty and indeed lack of concern for the suffering masses in Zimbabwe as incited by state media on the basis that ZANU PF is sincere in its call for talks but for one to really understand the hypocrisy of ZANU PF there is need to scrutinise the conditions on the ground vis-à-vis the talk about talks. |

Youth Forum Zimbabwe is greatly disturbed by the decision taken by the above stated countries in line with travel ban and financial sanctions on Mugabe and 13 of his top cronies. We totally concur with UK foreign minister’s sentiments that, ‘ China and Russia ’s stance is incomprehensible’ and the statement by Sir John Sawers that, ‘the people of Zimbabwe need to be given hope that there is an end in sight to their suffering’, yet it is totally opposite to such expectations. |
